Emmersyn’s 2 months!

Where have the past 2 months gone?

Between Scott and I’s reconciliation and some complications that arose for me postpartum, it has been a whirlwind. I have been absent from my blog and I miss sharing my life through words and pictures.

Two weeks ago, I had a D&C for retained placenta parts. At my 6 week  postpartum check up, because of a few symptoms that I’ve been having and my history with the retained placenta, my doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure my entire placenta had been delivered. The ultrasound showed that in fact about a 1 inch piece was still attached to my uterine wall. She discussed the options of a pill to help expel the extra piece or go straight to a D&C. After discussing things with Scott, we decided to try the pill first. The pill will make my uterus contract and bleed in hopes of expelling the rest of my placenta.

The pill was not successful and we had to go ahead and schedule a D&C. My doctor did the D&C under ultrasound so she was better able to visualize and ensure removal of all of the piece. My doctor is confident that she got it all! I have since been feeling very well, after initial recovery.

I really hope now that things have settled down I will be back to blogging on a more regular basis. In the meantime, enjoy these pictures of my 2 month old beauty!
